about

We Can Do This

When Ed was teaching me guitar he talked about getting in the pocket of the rhythm of a song. Jon listened to me play rhythm part and when we were ready to play it together he started to play his drums and we took a little trip together, right to the pocket.
Basically this is the story of Gary and I raising our four kids. You can’t get any more auto biographical than this song. Wow what a journey. Really if we had any idea how tough raising four kids into adulthood all while trying to stay fed and sane and married we certainly wouldn’t have tried it. Fortunately for us and those four kids, we were too young and optimistic to realize what we were up against. Heavenly Father really was the only one who knew what he was doing and we are grateful for him and all the blessing those four amazing people have brought into our life, and we encourage all who hear this song to not give up. You can do it and it's all worth it.

lyrics

We Can Do This

1)We were young when we got married
We bought a house and had some babies uh- huh uh-huh,
You were working every day,
I was home there were bills to pay uh- huh uh-huh…

Chorus:
But we both thought we can do this, we both thought we can do this, we can do this,
Well we both thought, we can do this, well we both thought, we can do this, we can do this.

2) What’s so hard our parents did it
We bought a couch and then a car uh-huh-uh-huh
You hit the road you had to travel
I missed your smile the kids were trouble uh- huh uh-huh…

Chorus:
But we both thought we can do this, we both thought we can do this, we can do this,
Well we both thought we can do this, well we both thought, we can do this, we can do this.

Bridge:
I love you, well I do, we need to see this through,
I love you, well I do, come on baby, we need to see this through.

3) Bills stacked up, we had to pay them,
We had never taken vacation uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh,
I was lonely you were stressed, the house it was a total mess uh- huh uh-huh…

Chorus:
But we both thought we can do this, we both thought we can do this, we can do this, well we both thought we can do this, well we both thought, we can do this, we can do this.

4) I love you and you love me, we love our kids, our family, uh-huh uh-huh-uh-huh,
We prayed, we cried, we talked, we fought,
It was harder than we thought uh- huh uh-huh…

Chorus:
But we both thought ,we can do this, we both thought, we can do this, we can do this, well we both thought, we can do this, well we both, thought, we can do this, we can do this.

about

Julie Clark Shubert South Carolina

If you listened to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, and every rocking song you could get your hands on from 1966 to now and stirred it up with a Fender Strat and sang it from a woman's perspective, you would have Julie Clark Shubert "From the Inside Out." When Julie turned 50, her husband gave her a Fender Strat, the stars aligned and her natural gift appeared, the rest is kinda a blur. ... more
